Rotary Club of Chennai Capital (RCCC) entered into a MOU with Tamil Nadu government in 2016. As per the MOU, RCCC has adopted fifteen (15) government schools around Chennai form the government as RCCC’s long term project. RCCC’s goal is to reconstruct deteriorated school buildings, modernize classrooms to e-classrooms, construct toilet blocks, install drinking water plants, paint buildings, provide computer systems, replace old broken furniture in classrooms and staff rooms and fulfill other necessities required for providing good education in a clean environment.
Apart from this RCCC has partnered with an organization called Mission Smile (sponsored by Muthoot Finance) to provide free cleft surgeries to young children.
In the year (2016) RCCC installed fifteen (15) projectors in all 15 schools enabling the children to learn through e-classrooms. RCCC assisted Mission Smile in identifying children for cleft surgeries and successfully helped sixty three (63) young children get back their smile after their surgery.
